JIPMER PG Entrance Exam
Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) entrance exam takes place twice a year; for January and July sessions. The JIPMER PG is a national level test for MD and MS seats.
The online registrations for January in-take tentatively kickstart in the third week of September. Similarly, for the July in-take, the online applications start in the last week of February.

JIPMER PG Exam Eligibility
The following criteria are compulsory for those who want to sit for the JIMPER PG exam. Those candidates who do meet the JIMPER PG exam eligibility criteria will be disqualified in the process of admission.
- Education: Must have MBBS/BDS or equivalent from a recognized university/institution. A twelve-month internship is mandatory.
- Age: no age restrictions are prescribed for the JIMPER PG exam.
- Citizenship: for MD/MS, the candidates of Indian Nationals/OCI/NRI are eligible. For MDS, the candidates of Indian Nationals/OCI are eligible to sit for the exam.

Admission process:
- Apply online by registering at the official site of the JIPMER PG exam
- Fill up the application by submitting the mandatory documents
- Pay your fee
- Submit the application
- You will be issued an admit card
- JIMPER PG exam
- They will be displayed on the official site. The candidates have to log in through their registered accounts to know them.
- Online counselling. Once the seat allotment is done, the candidates have to report at the JIPMER, Puducherry, to confirm their admission.

Each question carries four marks. And the candidates have to choose an option and ‘Submit’ the answer. The questions that are marked for review with selecting an option will be treated as ‘unattempted.’ And there is no mark cut for the unattempted questions.

1. I made mistakes in my JIPMER PG online application. What shall I do?
A: You cannot do anything. So better be careful and preview while submitting the application.
2. I forgot my password. How should I login again?
A: Go to ‘Forgot Password’ and reset your password.
3. How many MD/MS/MDS seats are there at the JIPMER, Puducherry?
A: There are about 65 MD seats, including for the OCI and Foreign nationals. And there are 30 seats in the MS category and two seats for MDS.
4. Is it mandatory to finish my internship to apply for the JIPMER PG exam?
A: If your internship is going to be finished on or before the prescribed date, as mentioned in the eligibility section, you can apply for it.
