GATE EXAM 2021
Pursuing M. Tech/ME will be one of the dreams for many engineering graduates in India. Since in India, there are about 6, 214 engineering colleges. And the competition for an M. Tech/ME gets stiff as nearly 15 lakh engineering students pass out every year.
There is, however, one and only national-level M. Tech/ME entrance exam in India; Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE).
Why GATE?
The GATE exam is the prominent national level exam in India, conducted by IITs and IISc on a rotational basis. The GATE aspirants who score well in the test will get M. Tech/ME seat in IISc, IITs, NITs, Universities and their affiliated colleges.
Considering the previous decade (2011- 2019), on an average 787, 358 aspirants sit for the GATE exam per year.
In recent years, international students from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and UAE are allowed to sit for the exam.
On top of that, the Public Sector Units (PSUs) consider the GATE score as an initial criterion for recruitment.
