NEET PG Exam
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Post Graduate (NEET-PG) is the Common Entrance Test (CET) across the nation. The National Board of Examinations conducts this test once in a year, in the first week of January.
There are about 23, 000 PG seats across the government and private medical colleges, as per the Board of Governors (BoG), Niti Aayog. Those who are qualified through the NEET PG are eligible for Docter of Medicine (M.D.), Master of Surgery (M.S.), and PG diploma courses.

NEET PG Exam Eligibility
Candidates aspiring to take the NEET PG exam have to check the following criteria before they place the application through online.
- Candidates shall pass and hold an MBBS degree/provisional pass certificate recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI)
- Candidates shall hold a permanent/provisional registration certificate of their MBBS with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council
- Candidates who are about to complete their ‘Internship’ shall check that they complete it before the prescribed date.
- There are no age-related eligibility criteria

Check out the following FAQs about the NEET PG exam.
1. How many times am I eligible to appear for the NEET PG Exam?
A: There is NO cap on the number of attempts. You can take the exam as many times as you can.
2. Should I take the NEET PG Exam for DNB post MBBS – course?
A: Yes, you should. Since DNB CET has been scrapped, the NEET PG scores are considered for the admissions.
3. Is it possible to withhold my NEET PG exam results?
A: Yes, it is. When you do not submit the necessary documents along with the application, the NBE will hold your results. Thus, you become ineligible to take part in the counselling.
4. Is the NEET PG exam counselling offline?
A: No, it’s not. You have to register for the counselling with all the necessary documents. Once the seats are allotted accordingly, you have to physically report at the college to confirm your admission.
5. Is the NEET PG going to be scrapped?
A: Yes, it’s a proposal by the Ministry of Human Resources in 2019. The NEET PG exam will be scrapped after 3 years of the National Medical Commission comes into effect.
