AILET Entrance Exam
The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is conducted by National Law University (NLU), New Delhi. Since the University doesn’t accept any other entrance exam score other than its own. However, a dozen other colleges accept the AILET score.
The AILET takes place once in a year. And the notification will be usually out by the third week of November, and the registrations begin by the second week of January.
About 70 seats are available for postgraduate studies at NLU, Delhi.

BA LLB (Hons.) | · 10+2 or equivalent with 50% marks. The candidates appearing in the 12th standard in the main annual Examination can also apply.
· Foreign nationals to be eligible should have obtained 65% marks in the qualifying examination. |
LLM | · LL.B. or an Equivalent Law Degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities). The candidates appearing in final year LL.B. main Examination can also apply.

1.Does NLU, Delhi accept CLAT exam score?
A: No, it does not. You have to sit for the AILET exam conducted by NLU, Delhi if you want to join that premier institute.
2.Is the AILET 2020 exam in offline mode?
A: No, it is not. Usually, the test is conducted offline. Because of Covid-19, they are going online.
3.Is there negative marking in the AILET 2020 exam?
A: Yes, there is. For each incorrect attempt, a 0.25 mark will be cut.
4.Is there any age limit for sitting the AILET 2020 exam?
A: No age limit is prescribed for the candidates who want to sit for the AILET 2020.
5.Which is the best law entrance exam in the country, CLAT or AILET?
A: Both law entrance exams are best on their own merit. If you take the AILETexam, you will be offered admission only at NLU, Delhi. If you sit for the CLAT exam, you will get a seat at an NLU or other prestigious law school which is on par with NLU, Delhi. With the CLAT exam, the chances of getting a seat at premier law school/university are high.
