Common-Law Admission Test (CLAT)
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is one of the national level entrance exams after graduation. The 22 National Law Universities and other universities and colleges consider this test score for the postgraduate law courses’ admission.
Approximately, 60,000 (round figure) aspirants sit for this highly competitive law exam. The number of test-takers continues to rise each year.
A consortium of the NLUs, seated at NLSIU Banglore, oversees the exam affairs conducted by an NLU on rotational basis.
The online registrations for this national level test start off in the first week of January tentatively.

PG CLAT 2020 Exam Eligibility
Since the CLAT exam is conducted both for the UG and the PG aspirants, we discuss here only the eligibility criteria for the graduates (= aspiring PG students).
- An LL.B Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum 50% of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and 45% of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
- Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2020 are also eligible to apply.
- No upper age limit is prescribed for appearing in CLAT 2020.

CLAT 2020 Exam FAQs
1.Is there any age limit to sit for the CLAT exam?
A: No, there is not. Candidates of any age can appear for the exam without worrying about the age.
2.Is the CLAT 2020 exam an online test?
A: Yes, it’s a Computer Based Test (CBT).
3.Does the CLAT counselling take place offline?
A: No, it’s not. The counselling takes place through online only.
4.Do they refund my counselling fee of Rs. 50,000 I do not want to join for the year?
A: Yes, they do. But they will cut Rs. 10,000 and refund the remaining amount.
5.How many colleges accept the CLAT exam score?
A: Apart from the 22 NLUs, about 122 law institutes accept the score for admission.
6.I qualified in the CLAT exam but did not pay the counselling fee. What happens?
A: Nothing happens, except for the cancellation of your candidature for admission for that academic year.
